It’s becoming more and more difficult to fathom the thought that I have reached 35 weeks of CEO. Which makes for 73 weeks of CEO total. And as I near my final week of CEO, all I can say is Thank You. Thank You Hancock County CEO for all that you have given me. CEO has given me so much already, and as I get set to begin my final week of this chapter of my life, I am still as open and receptive to everything that CEO has left to offer to me.

Chris Talley is one of the more intriguing business speakers becuase of his background. It's not all that often that we get business speakers from companies that employ ~70,000 workers! I think it's really incredible that we have such a large enterprise not but an hour up the road from us. I also am intrigued by how global CNH is. With 60% of its market in Europe, they are a company that has a significant hand in the automotive/industrial field. But even down to the employee, I love Chris' mentality on simple things. 04/30/2017
Jenni’s Ice Cream really was worth my trip up there. I really enjoy business visits that are newer startups. I really enjoyed the activity of planning schedules. This was so fun because I never really put that much thought into schedules. I can handle my own and I didn't ever think that scheduling would be that hard of a job. But it really is! I was also very appreciative of the gift bags. I even used that flashlight that very night! Overall, it may have been one of my favorite business visits!

I also took part in my 3rd Illini West Vendor Blendor. As always I had a great turnout at my booth. I am very thankful to have the vendor blendor in our area that works perfectly with my market.

What a week we’ve had for CEO! This week we did the impossible yet again and held the second annual CEO class business; Hancock County Ignite. I am so pleased with the job that we have all done and I’m proud to have played a role in the the development of Hancock County CEO class business conferences. But it really hit me when I pulled away from the winery: A. How lucky I am to have had the opportunties some people only dream of! B. How much I’m going to miss working on CEO class businesses. Overall, this has been an incredible week for CEO, and time after time, I find myself in feelings of such great pride for what we have done throughout the CEO program for not only myself, but for this community. CEO doesn't need communities, communities need CEO!

I was so very impressed to see all of the innovations that are taking place within the rural areas of our county (at Udder Hill Dairy). The robotic milking machines are honestly some of the coolest things that I have seen in a long time, in terms of innovating technology. 02/19/2017
We spent some time reflecting on 2016 and how to move forward with 2017. I found this very productive and a good usage of time as I can attest that this really helps. Each year I put together a "Year in Review" video that sums up how I have grown and how I've changed in the past year. This enables me to better understand where I stand professionally, spiritually, and personally.

What a week for CEO. I sit here tonight with sadness because this is the last journal of the semester...which also marks the halfway point of my second year of CEO. It's hard to believe that it has gone by this fast! But I have certainly enjoyed every moment of CEO so far, and I can't wait to see what we will encounter next semester!
We also got to listen to a very unique speaker this week. TNT Video Services was an excellent little business to learn about. But I think I enjoyed listening to Michael's individual story a lot better! From his work in a mansion, to his unexpected career at Western Illinois University. Mike is the living example of taking every opportunity that he had and making the most of it. And it's great to see that he is doing what he loves as well.

Tuesday will go down in the books as one of my favorite business visits ever! That's what true entrepreneurship is all about! Rock Creek Steel Supply is one heck of a story. I was so fascinated by their story! They are living the American dream that every 9-5 desk job wishes they could do! They are taking a risk and it is so great to see this happening in rural America. Seth was great - I love the fact that he knew nothing about steel and now he shapes and sells it! 11/20/2016
Tuesday, we were giving the wonderful opportunity to speak to a group in Galesburg, IL. I really enjoyed the trip there and I am also going to stay in contact with several of the people from the day in regards to CEO. As well as a couple people interested in my services. Overall it was a lot of fun, and it’s always great to get outside our comfort zone and explore the world.

In CEO class, I take in ridiculous amounts of information. And when I get out into the real world, I get the opportunity to apply all of the skills that I learn. That's the magic of CEO. EVERYTHING CEO teaches can be applied to my life today, tomorrow, and the rest of my life. 10/16/2016
This week in CEO was great fun! Whenever you can open up your week with a Rob Carson on a Monday, meet the USDA State Director, and end the week off helping my community, that's a great week! 09/24/2016
