We went to Outlaw Tees to talk to John McCarty and that was cool. It was really cool that we got to see our own shirts being made while we were there. I really enjoyed John telling us about how he got started in the shirt business and he actually started making signs first. It was an awesome visit and also cool to see how to make professional looking shirts being made.

Today Carter and Nick talked about building capital in a chapter of Craig’s book. That chapter was basically about the self image you create for yourself and how people see you that way. It talks about how if you're known as a liar people won’t trust you as well and it takes work to build up your capital again.

Today Ali and Brooklyn gave a presentation on Craig’s book entitled "The 3 Most Important Things." That is pretty self explanatory you just do what you say you are going to without making excuses why.

Today we went to Warsaw to Harrison Monuments. They had an amazing breakfast, it was really good and after we ate everyone went to Harrison Monuments. We looked at how they engraved the stone and who their clientele were. It was interesting to see the laser cutting the image into the stone and I also thought it was interesting that they were the first place in the area to get a laser engraver. After that we saw how they wrote the letters on the headstones by sticking thick paper to it, makingthe words, then sandblasting the words into the stone.
This was the day that Kendra and Elizabeth read the chapter of Craig’s book entitled Buckeye. The chapter talked about a kid giving a teacher a buckeye and the teacher ruining the kid's dreams by telling him it’s not special. This chapter especially is true in how you learn from a young age to not be amazed by things and they get hit with “reality” that just kills their dreams.

Connor and Matt did a chapter from Craig’s book called "From Here to the Door." It talked about the path you take from where you are to where you're going and thinking about the obstacles you might encounter on the way. This was a good thing to think about because most everyone, including me, thinks about the end instead of how to get there.
Mr. David Zanolla came in to speak about the Disney Parks. All I can say about it is wow. He was an awesome speaker, he blew my mind. I always knew that Disney was a big operation, but I didn’t realize how big it was - each park has about 75,000 employees. Mr. Zanolla showed me how they get and keep all of their loyal customers and all that they do to make it an experience. He showed us things that were amazing and that we can apply to our personal business and class business.

This day we all visited the First State Bank located in LaHarpe. Our presentation and information was provided by Mr. Andy Bastert. He informed us about what bankers looked for when they give people loans and how to increase our own chances of getting loans for our businesses. I thought this was helpful for when the day comes when we all have to apply for a loan for one thing or another.

This was the day we got a visit from Mr. James Boyd and his friend Carlos. Mr. Boyd came into our class and spoke to us about personal business. I thought he was really interesting and helpful with business and his powerpoint helped explain without me getting bored. He told us to find a problem people had and try to fix it and search for things you're interested in. He also gave us a good understanding of speed bumps we would encounter and how to get over them. His friend Carlos talked about his experiences in the peace corps and his travel around Africa. He told us what he saw during his time there and the examples of entrepreneurship he saw while down in Africa. I really enjoyed listening to both of them speak and I think I have learned a lot.

Today we went to Martin Sullivan's. I thought it was surprisingly interesting because before I thought it was just a place that sold tractors. They do much more there than I realized -repairs, spare parts, and automatic driving tractors and combines. My favorite part was flying the drone. It was amazing.

We listened to the presentation that Elizabeth and Kendra gave on chapter one of the book written by the founder of CEO. The book spoke of cognitive functions and how people are trained to not ask questions and be curious. This is really interesting. It's made me realize that I don't ask as many questions as I should. I am less curious about the world around me and I need to fix that. 09/16/2017
This day was interesting because we got to learn about business etiquette and etiquette in general. Some of the things she mentioned interested me, like the way your body moves and is positioned, the ways we cognitively move and position ourselves. I thought it was cool when she spoke about how you retain more information if your legs and arms are open and not crossed, because I constantly sit with my arms and legs crossed for comfort. I thought I would try to sit open.
